Take steps early to speed up the process
If you are planning on selling your home and moving next year, one of the big delays we are seeing during the process are the Local Authority Searches. It may be worth considering paying for these when you put your house on the market to help speed the process up. Currently we are seeing Searches take up to 8 weeks, typically pre pandemic this took around 3 weeks.
Your solicitor will be able to advise how long and what costs are involved in order to start this process early, and your buyer will be grateful that you’ve done all you can to keep the chain moving!
